We Proudly Accept TriCare for
Patients experiencing Depression

Our clinic is veteran owned and operated. We would like to take this opportunity to thank veterans, active duty servicemen and women, as well as their families for their service!

Did you know? Veterans are five times more likely to experience major depression (MDD) than civilians? Approximately 3 in 10 veterans with TBI have depression.

Why TriCare Insurance

Braincare Performance Center – DTC was founded because our owner, Sean, personally experienced the benefits of MeRT. As a former US Navy SEAL, with over 13 combat deployments, he understands the toll that serving our country can take on active military personnel, veterans, and their families. At our clinic, we know first-hand how the sacrifices you have made for our country can affect you and your loved ones.

We understand that Depression can occur because of events that you experienced during your service and from being away from your home and family. This affects not only you but also your spouse and family members. At BrainCare Performance Center, our mission is to help you better understand and communicate your unique brain health. And we will do our absolute best to make your experience, from first contact to final treatment, as seamless as possible!

MeRT (Advanced rTMS) and TriCare Insurance

Many service men and women experience a myriad of mental health symptoms when they return from duty. Although MeRT (Advanced rTMS) is still considered off-label for PTSD and TBI, many veterans have signs and symptoms of Depression and/or Major Depressive Disorder.

MeRT (Advanced rTMS) is a non-pharmaceutical, non-invasive, targeted and measurable treatment for depression. To learn more about the benefits from MeRT (Advanced rTMS) for depression click here.

Braincare Performance Center – DTC was built on our founders personal success with this therapy, it was his mission to bring this technology to Denver and the surrounding areas. Additionally, because his experience in the SEAL Teams, he made it a priority to accept TriCare Insurance so that military personnel, retirees, and their families can use their benefits for the treatment of Depression.

TriCare is an insurance plan issued by the United States Defense Health Agency offered to active military personnel, veterans, and their families. The equipment used in TMS is FDA- cleared to treat Depression, and in 2016, TriCare approved coverage for TMS therapy for Depression.

How it Works

TriCare West is the insurance provider that serves the Western region of the United States. We accept all three levels of insurance: TriCare Prime, TriCare Reserve, and TriCare Select for the treatment of depression.

TriCare Prime

If you have TriCare Prime, you may need a referral from your primary care physician or other medical provider. After your initial consultation with us, we may ask you to request a referral to see us for treatment for Depression. Additionally, we will set up a call to review the required Letter of Attestation. We will submit this on your behalf to accompany the referral to TriCare. You may have questions about this, and we are happy to help guide you through this process.

TriCare Reserve

If you are suffering from Depression and have TriCare Reserve, you do not need a referral submitted to TriCare from your primary care provider. All you need to do is contact our Veteran Care Coordinator, and she will get all your questions answered. The first step is to schedule consultation with one of our doctors. He will then get all the necessary paperwork filled out for you (or your spouse/dependent) so that you can begin your treatment as soon as possible.

TriCare Select

If your coverage is TriCare Select, and you are suffering from depression, you do not need a referral from your primary care provider. All you need to do is contact our Veteran Care Coordinator, and she will get all your questions answered. The first step is to be scheduled for a consultation with one of our doctors. He will then get all the necessary paperwork filled out for you (or your spouse/dependent) so that you can begin your treatment as soon as possible.

TriCare Coverage Specifications

TriCare coverage will only apply if you are experiencing Depression as your primary diagnosis, if you are over 18, and have tried previous treatments, such as medications, that were unsuccessful. TriCare coverage may be denied if you have Other Health Insurance (OHI). Please be sure to specify if you currently carry OHI.

While we will walk you through all the steps, it is important to mention that if you have Prime and need a referral, your PCP will need to submit the referral to TriCare on your behalf. Please note that your PCP will also need to indicate our physician’s name and contact information on the referral to TriCare. Please have Your PCP contact our Veteran Care Coordinator directly for the details.
